Citygames Woerden

Woerden

Woerden has a population of 53,000 and started in Roman times as an army town along the Rhine. From the year 795 the place was called Wyrda and in the Middle Ages Woerden became a fortified trading town with a castle, ramparts and moats. In 1372, Woerden was granted city rights. Shortly afterwards in 1410, construction of Woerden Castle began.

The town has many sights including the Sint-Bonaventurakerk, windmill De Windhond, the Old Town Hall and, of course, Woerden Castle. In short, a beautiful city to take a good look at.
