Antwerp

From the year 1400, Antwerp experienced an enormous growth from 10,000 inhabitants in 1400 to 100,000 around the year 1560. Under Emperor Charles V, Antwerp was the most important trading city in Europe north of the Alps. Hand in hand with the increasing prosperity went an unprecedented cultural boom.
Known are the Grote Markt with the city hall and the statue of Brabo, the Guild houses and of course the OLV church. But Antwerp is above all a pleasant, beautiful city that is more than worth a visit.
