Citygames Goes

Goes

Goes was founded in the 10th century on the edge of a creek (water channel) named the Korte Gos. The village, built on a creek ridge, grew quickly and was therefore granted city rights by the Count of Zeeland, Willem VI, in 1405. Goes grew to a population of over 28,000.
Goes is known for being a significant economic centre in Zeeland and this can be seen in the modern office park ‘Stationspark’.
The city contains many historical sights that tell its history. For example, the city contains about the castle, called Slot Oostende. Or Goes Town Hall, with the oldest part dating back to 1410! These two highlights alone definitely make Goes a city worth visiting!
