Amsterdam
Amsterdam was granted city rights at the beginning of 1300. From the Middle Ages onwards, Amsterdam developed into one of the largest trading cities in the world during the Golden Age. Wealth, power, culture and tolerance flourished in the city. The city has continued to grow and now has over 870,000 inhabitants!
The rich history of Amsterdam can be seen in many beautiful places, such as the Munttoren or the Royal Palace on Dam Square, a real eye-catcher! And don’t forget the fairytale-like ring of canals, which really characterises Amsterdam. Moreover, the largest and most important museum of the Netherlands is also located in Amsterdam, namely the Rijksmuseum! This is only a small part of what Amsterdam has to offer, it is definitely worth a visit.
