Arnhem
Arnhem has had city rights since 1233. Since the second half of the 19th century Arnhem has grown very rapidly and expanded in the 20th century. However, during the Second World War there was a lot of bombing, so they had to rebuild it all after the war. Currently, the city has grown again to over 160,000 inhabitants.
Arnhem is a unique city that is beautifully situated between an award-winning park (Sonsbeek) and a river (the Rhine). The city boasts the Grote Kerk or Eusebiuskerk, where you can take a panoramic lift up to get the best view of Arnhem! In Arnhem you can also admire the 16th century city castle, called ‘Duivelshuis’. All this makes the city definitely worth a visit!
