Cologne
With more than 1 million inhabitants, Cologne is the largest city in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth largest city in Germany.
Cologne was already a city under Roman rule in 50 AD and can look back on 2,000 years of history. The city is internationally known not only as an economic and cultural metropolis, but also as an important trade fair location and carnival stronghold. Thanks to its university and many other colleges, the city is the largest education and research location in Germany.
Cologne boasts many attractive sights, including the Rheinauhafen, the Old Town, the Ludwig Museum, Cologne Cathedral and other architectural monuments from the Middle Ages.
