Den Bosch
In 1184, Den Bosch received official permission from Godfrey II to become a city. This makes Den Bosch one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The city has no less than 155,000 inhabitants.
The closure of some factories turned Den Bosch into a city for “money matters”. It is also home to the largest beer brewery in the Netherlands, Heineken. But what really characterises typical Den Bosch is its Brabant cosiness and its beautiful historic centre with the most extraordinary system of watercourses in the Netherlands. Den Bosch boasts a number of beautiful churches, including the Sint-Catharina Church and the Sint-Jacobs Church. A real gem on the Bossche Marktplein is Het Bossche Stadhuis, which dates back to 1670. All this certainly makes Den Bosch a city worth visiting!
