Erfurt
Erfurt is the capital of the German state of Thuringia and is its largest city with over 213,000 inhabitants.
The name Erfurt was first mentioned in a 742 document in which bishopric Erfurt was founded by Boniface. The city is the seat of important institutions such as the Federal Labour Court, the university and college and the Catholic Diocese of Erfurt. Due to its central location in Germany, the city plays an important role in logistics and trade.
Erfurt has many interesting sights to offer, including the Egapark, the high cathedral St. Mary in Erfurt, the Petersberg Citadel and the Krämerbrücke.
