Freiburg im Breisgau is the 4th largest city in the state of Baden-Württemberg and has over 231,000 inhabitants.
Between 1945 and 1952, Freiburg was also the capital of the state of Baden, until the creation of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. Because the city is committed to the environment, Freiburg is also known as the “Green City”. Freiburg has many beautiful sights to discover in the old town, such as the Freiburger Dom and the Freiburger Bächle.
But the Old Town Hall and the New Town Hall, the Martinstor and the Schwabentor are also well worth a visit.
