Roermond
Limburg’s Roermond has a population of 59,000 and archaeological finds show that as early as the 3rd century, people lived at the site that later grew into Roermond. Roermond is first mentioned in 1130. Due to its favourable location on the river Meuse, Roermond became a Hanseatic city in 1441, an alliance of cities to promote trade.
Important sights include the Munsterkerk, Pierre Cuypers’ statue and St Christopher’s Cathedral. Roermond also has a modern outlet centre. In short, a city to take a good look at with the Citygames app.
