Trier
Trier is the 4th largest city in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and has a population of 111,000.
The city already existed in Roman times, 2,000 years ago, and is considered the oldest city in Germany. For this reason, Trier has many Roman monuments with an important historical background. These have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 and are viewed by many tourists every year.
In Trier, you can marvel at many important sights such as the Porta Nigra, the Constantinian Basilica, the imperial baths, the amphitheatre and Trier Cathedral.
