Venlo
Limburg’s Venlo is a commercial and industrial city and has about 68,000 inhabitants. The city lies on the river Maas, where many works of art can also be admired, and has a historic city centre of which the City Hall on the Markt is a great example. The area in which Venlo lies was already inhabited at the beginning of the era.
Venlo also became a Hanseatic city in 1481 and was still a but fortified city around 1652. The city has no less than 93 national monuments and is definitely worth a visit.
