Citygames Wageningen

Wageningen

Wageningen was founded in the 12th century and the town was a true fortified town in the Middle Ages. In the 19th century, the city walls were largely demolished to make way for new buildings. The town was an important trading port. Thanks to its agricultural university, Wageningen is also a lively student town. Well-known is also Wageningen’s castle from 1527, part of which is still visible. Wageningen was also the city where the German capitulation was signed in Hotel de Wereld on 5 May 1945. In short, a city with a rich past, but also a pleasant one.
